Board of Directors for Connect Worldwide 2010!
Connect is pleased to announce that the 2010 Board of Directors slate has been approved by the membership. We would like to welcome back Heinz-Hermann Adam (University of Muenster – Germany), Steve Davidek (City of Sparks – US) and Bill Johnson (TecSys Development Systems – US). We would also like to welcome new Connect Board Members Sam Ayers (JP Morgan Chase – US) and Greg Guthman (Quest Diagnostics – US) to our class of 2010.

Sam is no stranger to the user community as he has served on the ITUG Board and has been very active as our SIG and Advocacy Chair since Connect was formed. Greg Guthman has been very active in the VMS community and brings with him a wealth of technology and leadership expertise.

Connect would also like to extend sincere appreciation to outgoing board members, Joe Ramos, Glen Kuykendall, and Scott Healy for their time and leadership. They will be missed but we hope they will continue their active engagement with our vibrant community. Nina Buik will serve as immediate past-president for 2010 and will maintain a non-voting seat on the Connect Board to assist in transition and lead the 2011 nominating committee.

The 2010 Connect Board will elect its executive officers (VP and Secretary Treasurer) in January and Chris Koppe (Connect VP) will assume the role of Connect President on January 1.

New webcast recordings and podcasts have been added. "ISCSI vs. FibreChannel, Myths and Truths" and a podcast with HP's Sr. VP and GM of StorageWorks, Dave Roberson. Check them out in our Virtual Events Archive. (A recording of the webcast can also be viewed for a limited time by members of the Storage Special Interest Group.)

Make sure to update your profile. Are you interested in volunteering with Connect? Do you want to receive The Connection or the NonStop Connect Now eNewsletter? You can opt in for any of these and more in your profile. Don't forget to update your mailing address.

Connect is pleased to announce the new Virtualization SIG! The action has started and movement is underway. "Virtualization is the creation of a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, such as an operating system, a server, a storage device or network resources." Explore the SIG's page, and join in.
