Privacy Statement

CONNECT is committed to protecting members’ privacy in all activities and services.  CONNECT’s commitment to protecting the privacy of members’ personal information may result in periodic changes to this Privacy Policy.  By participating in or using any activities or services, Members, Affiliates, Associates, Delegates, and Attendees unconditionally agree to be bound by CONNECT’ Privacy Policy.

Information CONNECT collects

The information CONNECT collects during the normal course of business generally falls into the following two categories: Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information.

Personally Identifiable Information:
The Personally Identifiable Information CONNECT collects during the normal course of business may include members’ names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, employers, credit card numbers, expiration dates, shipping addresses, id numbers, login names, passwords, public postings, prospect email address, and job title.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information:
This refers to information that does not by itself identify a specific individual. The Non-Personally Identifiable Information CONNECT collects during the normal course of business may include the Uniform Resource Locator of the Web site that the member came from before visiting CONNECT-community.org, which pages a member visits on our Site, which URL a member visits next, which browser a member used to come to our Site, a member’s Internet Protocol address, and any search terms entered on CONNECT-community.org.

CONNECT does not CONNECT the Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information we collect.

Why CONNECT collects member information
CONNECT’s primary goal in collecting information is to provide members with superior service. We use Non-Personally Identifiable Information on an aggregated basis to analyze member behavior to help us understand how members use our activities and services. We use this information to improve the content of our Site, to make our Site easier to use, and to customize our communications and advertising.

How we use member information
CONNECT uses Personally Identifiable Information only in ways that are compatible with the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. CONNECT takes reasonable steps to ensure that Personally Identifiable Information is relevant to its intended use, accurate, complete, and current. CONNECT gathers and uses information in a number of ways; this includes the distribution of newsletters and promotional e-mails, and other CONNECT-related information. If a member no longer wishes to receive the CONNECT member- and associate-related e-mail messages, which are a main source of updated information about the services and benefits of CONNECT, the member can submit a CONNECT Correspondence Opt-Out Request.  A member can opt out at any time.

CONNECT will offer individuals the opportunity to choose (opt out of) whether their Personally Identifiable is to be used for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual.  For sensitive Personally Identifiable Information, CONNECT will give individuals the opportunity to affirmatively and explicitly (opt in) consent to the disclosure of the information to a non-agent third party or the use of the information for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual.

Sharing member information
CONNECT contracts with Partners who may have information that is of interest to you.  Other than our Partners, CONNECT does not sell, trade, or rent to others the Personally Identifiable Information we collect. Where CONNECT engages third parties to perform services on our behalf, the third party will be required to subscribe to this Privacy Statement.

At some times, CONNECT will offer members information about companies with products or services that may be of interest to them. CONNECT may assist these companies in their marketing activities by forwarding their messages to members, but CONNECT will not provide these companies with any member’s Personally Identifiable Information. If a member no longer wishes to receive any 3rd party marketing communications, the member can submit a Third-Party Opt-Out Request.  A member can opt out at any time.

CONNECT will offer individuals the opportunity to choose (opt out of) whether their Personally Identifiable Information is to be disclosed to a non-agent third party.

From time to time, CONNECT may be required to provide Personally Identifiable Information in response to a court order, subpoena, or government investigation. CONNECT reserves the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that CONNECT in good faith believes to be unlawful. CONNECT may release certain Personally Identifiable Information when CONNECT believes that such release is reasonably necessary to enforce or apply their Terms and Conditions or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others and themselves.

CONNECT could merge with or be acquired by another business entity or their respective assets could be acquired. Should such a combination or acquisition occur members should expect that CONNECT would share some or all of members’ Personally Identifiable Information to continue serving its members.

Accessing and changing personal information
Members have access to their Personally Identifiable Information and can change all of their Personally Identifiable Information that CONNECT collects and maintains, at any time, by contacting CONNECT by sending CONNECT an email at info@CONNECT-community.org to request access to, correct or delete any Personally Identifiable Information. To protect members’ privacy and security, CONNECT may take reasonable steps to verify member identity before making corrections.

Opting Out Of Notification
If an individual no longer wishes to receive the CONNECT member- and associate-related e-mail messages, or 3rd party email notifications, the individual can submit a Correspondence Opt-Out Request by emailing CONNECT Headquarters at info@CONNECT-community.org indicating their desire to be removed from the mailing list. A person can opt out at any time.

Security
CONNECT will take reasonable precautions to protect Personally Identifiable Information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

Enforcement
Individuals who wish to file a complaint or who take issue with this Policy should direct such communication to CONNECT via e-mail at info@CONNECT-community.org. CONNECT will explain the process to be followed when filing a complaint. Filing a complaint in English will expedite the process. CONNECT will investigate and attempt to resolve complaints and disputes regarding use and disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with the principles contained in this Policy. For complaints that cannot be resolved between CONNECT and the complainant, complaints will be submitted to [the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) for mediation and then if necessary, to binding arbitration for final resolution.  Information about AAA services can be found at its website:  www.adr.org].
