SAP HANA your way: New certified platforms to deploy your HANA workloads are here

To remain competitive in today´s market, enterprises need to turn all their data into actionable insights. In light of this challenge, many IT organizations have turned to in-memory databases, as a way of enabling the business to exploit their data. And one popular in-memory database is SAP HANA--which promises real-time business, faster transactions, and smarter insights.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise has a comprehensive portfolio of solutions optimized to run SAP HANA. Whether you want to deploy HANA on an appliance model, or use a “do it yourself” Tailored Datacenter Integration approach, or whether you want to scale-out, or scale-up your environment, we have a wide range of infrastructure options to address all your SAP HANA needs. We also have the services and know-how to help you meet your HANA project objectives.

One customer leveraging our converged solutions for SAP HANA is NTUC Fair Price, Singapore´s largest grocery retailer. They play in a highly competitive market, where businesses must be agile and able to respond to consumer trends instantly in order to succeed. Their ERP system ran in older IBM UNIX infrastructure, and as data volumes grew, there were issues around the ever-increasing time required to generate new reports. This was unnacceptable to the business.

As a result NTUC Fair Price upgraded its ERP system to an SAP HANA platform, and when looking for the ideal infrastructure partner, they selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The reason in the customer´s words was “Because we had decided to move our P7 UNIX platform, it made sense to find a solution with the technical leader in the HANA market, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Also, on a project of this importance, we prefer a direct relationship with the vendor, and HPE spans hardware, software, implementation services and consultancy” said Zhang Yan, deputy director, IT, of NTUC Fair Price. For this project, they selected HPE ConvergedSystem 900 for SAP HANA and are also using Serviceguard for Linux for high availability.

With this solution, NTUC was able to accelerate access to actionable business insights by simplifying their environment and getting a single version of their data. They improved their stock, merchandising and payments efficiencies, and now the business can react faster to new consumer trends.
