HPE Presentation: "Blockchain/Bitcoin/DLT", Matt Riesz
Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is quite new, and it’s evolving into something that could transform value exchange as profoundly as the internet transformed information exchange. In this presentation we’ll look at the technologies and how they’re being used. We will explore some of the challenges presented by blockchain technologies and how NonStop is especially well-suited to address them.

Gravic: "HPE Shadowbase Synchronous Replication Feature Rollout", Paul Holenstein
HPE Shadowbase Zero Data Loss (ZDL) is here! With this new release, data loss as a result of unplanned outage is a thing of the past. We discuss these major new HPE Shadowbase features, including: the pros and cons of asynchronous vs synchronous replication, feature rollout sequence, architectural flow, and what to consider when using synchronous replication. Don’t be left behind and learn how zero data loss can benefit you!

Lunch Break

1:00-1:30
HPE Presentation: Jenkins and DevOps on the NonStop”, Meg Watson
DevOps has become mainstream in modern IT shops. This talk introduces DevOps tools that the NonStop Advanced Technology Center has worked with on the NonStop.  The talk will center on Jenkins, but will also touch on Git, open source build tools, and Ansible.

1:30-2:00
Omni Payments Presentation: OmniCloudX on NonStop X: Impressive - and Affordable – Together!”, Jessica Nieves
OmniCloudX on NonStop X hosts numerous instances of the OmniPayments Financial Transaction Switch at pay-for-use prices so affordable that mid-size retailers and financial institutions now can operate own their high-capacity transaction switches. It’s the world’s first cloud built on NonStop X. The OmniCloudX solution is continuously available with automatic failover to other NonStop X systems. Also supplied are complete security functions for every transaction handled.

NuWave Presentation: "Open Up Your NonStop Using REST Services", Gabrielle Guerrera

RESTful web APIs are ubiquitous—everyone is using them. Learn how easy it is to integrate NonStop applications with applications and services on any platform, including IoT devices. This presentation will provide an overview, uses cases, and demos to show how your NonStop applicationscan provide and consume REST Web services in a snap . LightWave Server allows you to expose your existing NSK or Pathway servers as industry-standard REST services. These services can then be accessed using JSON messaging by REST clients running on virtually any computing platform, including IoT devices. LightWave Client allows applications running on NonStop servers to securely access REST Web services anywhere, on any platform or operating system through the NSK interprocess message (IPM) system.

Afternoon Break

Availability Digest: "The Hazard of Fat Fingers", Dr. Bill Highleyman
Many outages of IT systems are caused by human error. In our presentation, we describe several real-life instances in which people have caused critical systems to crash by entering erroneous commands. The outages were all preventable by using a simple procedure. We explain the technique and encourage companies to use this method in the future to prevent outages due to fat fingers.

HPE Presentation: "Virtualized NonStop (vNS) and Other New Products", John Vollers & Peter Schvarcz
HPE NED is pleased to announce the general availability of the HPE Virtualized NonStop (vNS) software product. This marks the first step of HPE's strategy of enabling HPE NonStop software for deployment in modern cloud environments.

The presentation will discuss how the NonStop Architecture is implemented as an IaaS environment using industry standard x86 servers, networking and storage products, defined by the HPE Virtualized NonStop hardware reference architecture.  With Virtualized NonStop, you may now instantiate, deploy and manage NonStop systems as an IaaS environment using OpenStack services such as Nova, Cinder, Neutron, Glance and Horizon.
