Increase Your Network Security with Unified Threat Management
As the digital marketplace faces growing security risks, applications are transforming the way businesses operate, communicate, and protect sensitive data. Today’s businesses must invest in technologies that deliver greater performance, securely, at an affordable price. Particularly for small and midsize businesses (SMBs), simple, secure, and affordable IT allows SMBs to harness the flexibility of the cloud and the security of on-premises technology. UTM solutions from HPE are ClearOS-based offerings that unite every IT layer to provide comprehensive security.
No Brainer for SMBs – MicroServer Cashback Offer
When you hear the words “no brainer” what thoughts come to mind? Something so simple and straight forward you would be unwise to pass it up. However, when we hear something is a no brainer we tend to ask ourselves, “Ok, what’s the catch?” The sceptic in us wonders if the no brainer really is a no brainer or is too good to be true.
New Offers for small and midsize businesses
Should you choose time over money, or money over time? This is one of those so-called dilemmas of happiness. It’s hard to choose; we all want both. At Hewlett Packard Enterprise, we believe both are important as to how we offer our IT to you.

Software-Defined & Cloud
After a long time in coming, the Garner Magic Quadrant Report for Hyperconverged Infrastructure 2017 was release with much fanfare. HCI is still reported to be the fastest-growing segment at a CAGR of 48%, slated to exceed $10 billion by 2021. This report was especially interesting as this is the first of its kind, assessing vendor offerings according to the vendor’s ability to execute and their vision. In past years, I tracked and compared progress of the different vendors within the Integrated Infrastructure Magic Quadrant. But, as tempting as these comparison appeared to be, this year I refrained because the Magic Quadrant and Critical Capabilities Reports for HCI have been constructed quite differently.
For this month I am sticking within a Hyperconverged Infrastructure theme, arming you with hopefully new knowledge on what this infrastructure can deliver to you.

DevOps and ITSM – Essential Ingredients to a Modern Hybrid IT Management System
In 2018, we use Hybrid IT to deliver, enable and facilitate organisational and business-driven outcomes. Yet organisations differ over whether they prefer ITIL or DevOps to support their fast-changing IT environments.
The amount of focus applied to each will depend on several factors, not least “what are the business or organisational outcomes you are trying to achieve?” In reality, you should consider both to be practical parts of your IT Management System and IT Operating Model.
This webinar will look at ITIL, DevOps and other components, and why it’s time to embrace multiple tools and methodologies in Hybrid IT.
HPE NonStop News
Cybersecurity Market growth – investments ARE happening
Whether the strategy is to deploy a layered approach or follow an established framework (like NIST, PCI, GDPR), securing the actual sensitive data is one of the highest priorities in any strategy. Smart organizations are investing in solutions to help minimize the risk of a data breach or exposure of sensitive data.
Read this story of how one of the world’s largest payments technology company achieves PCI compliance and protects customer data by deploying security tokenization.
Also, check out this press release about a payments processing service in Europe which recently made a similar investment to protect payments data and maintain their reputation as a reliable clearing house.
With the global cybersecurity market projected to reach a size of $165.2 billion by 2023, as stated by Reportbuyer.com, it is clear that organizations realize that NOW is the time to protect sensitive data – along with their brand reputation, before it’s too late.
HPE NonStop and Hybrid IT:
The Best of Both Worlds
Hybrid IT Infrastructure has been a core part of HPE’s strategy for a number of years now, and it’s easy to see why. Across their product portfolio, they have made a massive investment in public and private cloud infrastructure, developing dedicated hardware and partnering with Microsoft Azure and others. But what does Hybrid IT mean for the average NonStop installation?

Enterprise Security and Cloud Storage are not Mutually Exclusive!
While most all IT professionals understand the advantages of backup to the Cloud, they are justifiably concerned about data security. Yet, Tributary Systems, in partnership with IBM, has introduced an innovative solution for guaranteeing data integrity in a Cloud Backup scenario. Tributary Systems’ Storage Director Cloud Backup/Restore/Archival solution paired with IBM Cloud Object Storage, is architected to be compatible with IBM®, HP, Oracle®/Sun, VMWare and computing platforms running Windows®, Linux®, iOS (AS/400), zOS (Mainframe), HP NonStop™ and UNIX® (HP UX, AIX) operating systems. Read the IBM Solution Brief here. to learn more about the advantages of secure Cloud Object Storage.
Did you know?
SSLv3 (and older versions) and TLS 1.0 are no longer considered secure and use of these protocol versions after June 30, 2018 may make you non-compliant to PCI DSS 3.2. In future RVUs, NonStop SSL will set TLS 1.2 as the default supported version but will allow users to modify the allowed versions to suit their environment.
