The purpose of the operations management SIG is to help NonStop users find ways to achieve:
* Quality operations with a minimum amount of human intervention.
* Reduced operation costs while striving for the goal of lights-out operations.
* Tools that contribute to Automated Operations includ ASAP, Prognosis, TACL, ViewPoint,
etc.

This Group will provide NonStop partners, vendors and users with on-demand access to vendor news and to improve the planning, administration and execution of international, national and regional conferences. Although the group will advocate primarily for NonStop partners and vendors, users are also encouraged to utilize the SIG as a single point of access to all HP NonStop partners and vendors and to submit suggestions. HP Solutions Analyst may also benefit from such centralized access.

The NonStop Performance SIG provides a forum for users and third parties to exchange experiences and concerns about system performance. By default the customer perception of performance is how long it takes to get an answer back from the application. This typically entails a multi-platform infrastructure that includes many different vendors. Issues range form system and network configuration for performance measurement tools to performance parameters.

The NonStop Security and Audit SIG's mission is three-fold:

1. To Exchange knowledge and experiences relative to securing NonStop systems.
2. To encourage and organize presentations and papers on securing NonStop systems.
3. To provide NonStop and NonStop alliance partners with direction and input for future enhancements to HP NonStop products.

You probably know a little about virtualization if you have ever divided your hard drive into different partitions. A partition is the logical division of a hard disk drive to create, in effect, two separate hard drives.
