AUSTIN, Texas, August 30, 2010 – Connect, HP’s largest independent user community, today announced that Nina Buik has been appointed chief marketing officer, effective Sept. 1, 2010.
In her new role Buik will be responsible for brand marketing, corporate communications as well as customer relationship management through MyCommunity, Connect’s social CRM platform.
"As former president of Connect and even in her current role as immediate past president, Nina has worked tirelessly as a volunteer from Connect’s inception to create a strong brand and organization that now includes more than 50,000 members worldwide,” said Kristi Browder, executive director and chief operating officer, Connect. "The ability to bring in Nina as chief marketing officer with her strong marketing and sales background coupled with her unique understanding of the user community will benefit the Connect community for years to come.”
Previously Buik was vice president of sales and marketing for 4th Source Nearshore IT Services and Solutions. As chief marketing officer, Buik will be in charge of driving awareness of Connect’s position as the leading community of HP business technology customers for ongoing product awareness and education, vendor influence as well as peer-to-peer networking.
In addition to serving as an executive in the IT industry for the past 15 years, Buik has served as a trustee for the Georgia Eye Bank and as a five-time coaching assistant for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training Program. Buik resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
