I also received calls and emails from 3rd party providers indicating HP had uninvited them from the upcoming NonStop Symposium. As a past ITUG Board Member, I'm surprised and discouraged by these actions all while providing no explanation. It is almost unbelievable that HP would be so heavy handed.

I agree with Larry's comment. Furthermore the primary purpose of a User Community is to meet the needs and requirements of the community at large. To implement a restriction of this nature sends a very bad message to the community and reflects negatively on HP, Connect, and the board. Every vendor or partner that particpates on the EXPO floor can be viewed as competitor to HP. I as a Connect/former ITUG member, past Connect Board member, user, and customers see all 3rd Party vendors as complimenting the HP (TANDEM) Nonstop Enterprise by adding value to my technology investment.
I am dismayed and saddened by the recent turn of events where third party providers who have been present for years at the ITUG and Connect gatherings were suddenly refunded their booth deposits and ejected from the proceeding this year because they were in competition with HP. I have worked with Tandem/HP NonStop for 32 years and this has always been to a large extent a family. For a company the size of HP to take such an action is amazing. Do they really feel that threatened by these companies which typically have no more than a handful of employees? Come on HP, be a mensch. It’s not fun anymore if everyone isn’t allowed to play.
